Introduction to Health Sciences
HEA 102
This one-credit course provides a roundation of core knowledge common to all health related professions. All aspects of the health care industry are discussed.
Medical Terminology
AHS 120
The student will study anatomical, physiological and pathological terminology with emphasis on word structures, spelling and punctuation.
**This course is dual-credit with Bowing Green Technical College**
Emergency Procedures
CPR 100
This course will focus on potential emergency situations. It is designed to promote an understanding of standard precautions necessary for personal and professional health maintenance and infection control. **Students can earn CPR and First Aid certification through the American Heart Association.**
Medicaid Nurse Aid
MNA 100
Specific knowledge and skills for students and/or nurse aides to assume the role and responsibility required in long-term care is communicated to the student through lectures, lab, and clinical practice. The focus of the course is communication, infection control, safety, residents' rights, and basic nursing skills.
**Students will have the opportunity to earn their MNA certification as the state exam will be given at the end of the Spring Semester.**
Anatomy and Physiology
AHS 109
This one-credit course will provide knowledge of the structure and function of the human body including interaction of all body systems and and understanding of basic human needs necessary for health maintenance.
