Warren East High, Warren Elementary latest to earn

Energy Star Award

Two more Warren County schools have earned the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star Award this year. Warren East High School and Warren Elementary School are the latest schools to receive the award for energy efficiency. The Energy Star Award goes only to buildings that have adopted superior management strategies for energy efficiency. All buildings have to achieve a certain score on the Energy Star application to earn the award. The energy-saving strategies initiated by WCPS Energy Manager Jay Wilson have contributed greatly to the awards.

The addition of Warren East and Warren Elementary brings to 16 the number of Energy Star buildings in the school district. Already recognized as Energy Star buildings are Alvaton Elementary, Briarwood Elementary, Cumberland Trace Elementary, Drakes Creek Middle School, Greenwood High School, Henry F. Moss Middle School, Natcher Elementary, North Warren Elementary, Oakland Elementary, Plano Elementary, Rockfield Elementary, Warren Central High School, Warren East Middle School, and the WCPS Transportation Department building.
